3 Reasons to Make Your Business More Mobile

Mobile this and mobile that; it appears that mobile technology is all the craze these days. It’s no surprise, considering that the majority of people are carrying around phones that are smarter and more powerful than the computers that sat atop their desks 10 years ago. With all this power, it’s integral that businesses start to harness and use these devices to boost existing processes, and implement new ones to better efficiency and grow businesses to a new level. While there are many great reasons to start using mobile devices and software in your business, below are three that rise to the top of our list.

1: Increase in Productivity: Why do things twice?

Managing paper based anything through, faxing, copying, rekeying and filing is time intensive and error prone. It is a fact that when forced to transcribe a form from paper to digital, there is a higher chance that a mistake can be made. Data collectors can simply deploy the forms they need on the phones and tablets they are familiar with and collect data digitally on the go.

2: Power from your pocket.

Mobile technology moves at the most rapid of paces. Even as an avid smartphone user and part-time mobile phone enthusiast, I find myself overwhelmed with the advancements that mobile phone makers and software developers make in the mobile space. It is crazy to imagine that the first IPhone was only released in June of 2007 and the first IPad in April of 2010. With all of these advancements, it has become commonplace for a majority of people carry these devices with them on a daily basis, and more importantly, they have grown comfortable using these devices for all sorts of uses, including uses that can improve your business workflows.

3: A cost effective (and sometimes free!) solution

With the rise in popularity of mobile devices, came a rise in popularity of apps. Apps are those seemingly small installations that can give you a range of different tools on your phone. These apps come in plenty of different shapes and sizes, and it is likely that there is an app out there that can provide you with a cost effective solution to your problem. One of my favorite trends that have flourished in this app economy, is the freemium offering trend. This trend or strategy that many app developers have adopted, gives away their product, or a basic variant of their product, at absolutely no cost. While many offer free trial periods, there are many that offer completely free versions, that are perfect for small businesses, or individual consultants or entrepreneurs. I believe what’s most important, is that you can try out a software, see what it is like, and determine whether it suits your needs, all without spending a penny (or nickel).

Whatever your reason, get started now.

The time has never been better to start (at a minimum) thinking about implementing some form mobile into your business or organization. As with any technology, the longer you wait, the greater the risk becomes. We understand technology may not be your business, and conveniently, we can help soothe some of those aches associated with implementing. Get in touch with us if you have any questions, or if you just want to chat about what is out there for you. That is what we’re here for.
